Celebration Flags
As part of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District “Celebration Flags” program, 10 local artists or artist teams were selected to create a total of forty flags to help welcome the world to Johnson County. These flags were made from recycled hot air balloons! One of the artist teams is the Johnson County Developmental Supports Emerging Artists program, where adults with an intellectual or developmental disability create art and earn income. Libraries opening their arms to the world
Johnson County Library locations are working hard to help support international visitors this summer. They serve as cooling centers on hot days. Out-of-town visitors can sign up for a library card. Libraries have boosted their Wi-Fi, added charging stations and increased their language translation capabilities. Learn more | Photos
